The WELL 2025 Annual Conference panels will include:
- Panel 1: Infrastructure in the Balance: Will Federal and State Priorities Meet Local Needs? Panelists will examine the impact of Prop 4, the state environmental bond, and whether federal and state priorities align with local infrastructure needs. Discussions will cover delayed infrastructure renewal, subsidies for low-income communities, and potential policy shifts under the new federal administration.
- Panel 2: What lessons can be learned from the Los Angeles County firestorms and their impact on extreme weather resilience? Panelists will discuss lessons from the Los Angeles County firestorms, focusing on impacts to water and energy infrastructure, securing funding for resilience, and strengthening watershed management. They will also examine how public agencies can prepare for extreme weather and support community rebuilding.
- Panel 3: How can we build consensus on water issues to drive effective policy and solutions? Panelists will discuss federal policy shifts in California water management, challenges with Prop 218, and strategies to protect low-income communities from rising water rates. They will explore effective ways to engage communities on key water issues.
