On Thursday, April 10, 2025, the Educate 2 Lead (E2L) program held its third session online, Leading through Change, Crisis, and Uncertainty. Facilitated by Dr. Jaguanana Lathan, President and CEO of New Generation Equity, Inc., and Graduate, WELL UnTapped Fellowship, Summer Class of 2024, and co-led by Stephan Tucker, General Manager of the Water Replenishment District, the session offered an exploration of equity-conscious leadership in times of ongoing disruption and transformation.
Participants examined how to transform challenges into opportunities by prioritizing process as much as outcomes and how to apply equity-driven strategies to lead through uncertainty.
From understanding the human response to change to mastering the stages of transition, the session provided leaders with practical tools to become effective, compassionate change agents in complex, diverse environments.
From becoming a change agent to leading teams through the emotional and social phases of transformation, participants walked away equipped to drive meaningful, lasting change.
This leadership initiative, founded by Water Education for Latino Leaders (WELL) and the
California African American Water Education Foundation (CAAWEF), is designed to empower women and underrepresented leaders in the California water and energy sectors.
