On Thursday, April 2, 2025, the Educate 2 Lead (E2L) program held its second session online, focusing on self-awareness and emotional intelligence in leadership. Facilitated by Dr. Jeremy Hunter, President and Founder of Executive Leadership Mind, the session centered on the critical question: How can we use the challenges in our lives to unlock our true potential as leaders and human beings?
In a world marked by uncertainty, from the Los Angeles wildfires to climate change, Dr. Hunter guided participants in learning how to transform adversity into growth. The session covered essential strategies to manage overwhelming emotions and navigate difficult moments with clarity and focus, strengthen emotional agility and decision-making skills, build inner capacity and resilience even in the face of ongoing crises, and lead with confidence and compassion.
By exploring how to manage their nervous system and strengthen their leadership skills, the cohort walked away with powerful tools to better lead themselves and others through challenging times.
This leadership initiative, founded by Water Education for Latino Leaders (WELL) and the California African American Water Education Foundation (CAAWEF), is designed to empower women and underrepresented leaders in the California water and energy sectors.
